Symbol of peace, riding animal, pack animal

The donkey was known as an animal of peace. 
No one would go into battle against enemies on a donkey. Horses were used for that purpose.

Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey. By doing so, he showed that he did not want to fight against the Roman army. He had come to bring peace between God and humanity.
