08: Royal gifts
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Matth. 2,10-11
The star had led the wise men to their destination. They had found the newborn King. They gave him very valuable gifts, fit for a king. Yes, this was no ordinary child. His name was Jesus, which means ‘the Lord saves’.
