22: I will be rewarded in heaven
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 1 Corinthians 9:25
In biblical times, athletes could win a crown or wreath of leaves if they won an important competition. The athletes fought hard for this wreath, even though it wilted after a few days. But we who serve God will receive a wreath that will never wilt. God keeps his promises.
You can be sure that it is worth striving for this reward, to please God and obey him.
