11: The Savior God promised - 3
God said to King David,
“I will set up your seed after you … and I will establish his kingdom … I will be his Father, and he shall be My son … Your throne shall be established forever” (2 Samuel 7:12-16).
About 1,000 years before the Lord Jesus came to be born here below, God promised that He would be born into the family of David. God chose David to rule over his people. David was a good king. Some of his descendants were bad kings and others were good. These kings reigned for different lengths of time, but there was One coming Who would be different.
