01: He came to Bethany

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. John 12:1

Good Friday is a week from today. A week before the very first Good Friday, the day of the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus, Jesus came to Bethany.

He was visiting Lazarus, Mary and Martha. The three were siblings. Jesus had performed a special miracle on Lazarus. Lazarus had been very ill, he died and was buried. Then Jesus came and brought him back to life.

Bethany was about three kilometres from Jerusalem. Jesus returned there again and again during Passion Week.
