Pray As Jesus Prayed - Part 2

Jesus prayed and gave thanks

You will find the story four times in the Bible: Matthew 14 from verse 13 -- Mark 6, from verse 30 -- Luke 9, from verse 10 -- John 6, from verse 1.

Many people had gathered around Jesus. He had healed the sick and spoken of the Kingdom of God. Now it had grown late.
The disciples came to Jesus and urged Him saying, “It is high time that we send the people away!
“They must buy themselves something to eat. They must look for a place where they can stay overnight. There is nothing here!”
“You give them something to eat!”, answered Jesus.
“But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!”, replied the disciples.
Jesus asked the disciples, “Tell the people to sit down in groups, always 50 people in a group.” They did as they were told.
Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish, looked to Heaven, and thanked God.
Jesus knew: Everything we need comes from God. In that moment, with it being impossible to feed all the people with so little food, Jesus prayed.
Jesus thanked God for the few loaves of bread and fish that He had. He also expected that God would do something so that all would have enough to eat.
Pray as Jesus prayed: Thank God for the good things He gives.
You can pray before a meal and thank God for what He provides.
Praying as Jesus prayed also means to expect that God will do special things. “With God nothing is impossible” (Luke 1:37).
God can do miracles! After His prayer, Jesus divided the bread and fish. The disciples gave the food to the people. Everyone ate until they were satisfied. Still much food was left over. The number of people who ate was about 5000 men, besides women and children.
This is a true story! It’s the Bible in Luke 9 verses 11-17.
