1The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country and your people. Leave your father’s family. Go to the land I will show you. 2“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing to others.”
Abram did as God asked: he moved to a new land. His wife and nephew went too. God promised Abram and his children the new land.
Think!
God asked Abram to do a hard thing. Abram trusted God. He did what God told him to do.
Has God ever asked you to do a hard thing? Maybe you had to move. Maybe you are the only one in your family who loves God.
The Bible says, “The Lord helps me. I will not be afraid” (Hebrews 13:6). You can do what God asks. He will help you with the hard things.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank you for helping me do hard things. I am glad you are with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
