God’s Promises
Genesis 17:5-7

5“You will not be called Abram anymore. Your name will be Abraham, because I have made you a father of many nations. 6I will give you many children. Nations will come from you. And kings will come from you. 7“I will make my covenant with you. It will last forever. It will be between me and you and your children after you for all time to come. I will be your God.”

Abraham and Sarah were old. They had no children. But God made a covenant with them. God promised Sarah a son. Their family would become huge. They would be God's special people.

Think!

Has anyone ever broken a promise to you? God always keeps His promises. Everything He says in the Bible is true. God promises, “The Lord gives me strength. He is like a shield that keeps me safe. My heart trusts in Him, and He helps me” (Psalm 28:7). Say this promise until you can remember it without looking.

You can pray like this:

Dear God, I am so glad I can trust you! Help me remember the promises in your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
