Jealous Brothers
Genesis 37:3-4

Many years went by. Abraham had a son named Isaac. Later, Isaac had a son named Jacob. Jacob had many sons. One son’s name was Joseph. 

3Israel [Jacob] loved Joseph more than any of his other sons. Joseph had been born to him when he was old. Israel made him a beautiful robe. 4Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them. So they hated Joseph. They couldn’t even speak one kind word to him.

Joseph was Jacob's favourite son and he gave him a beautiful coat. Joseph's brothers became jealous. Joseph told them his dreams. In his dreams, he was in charge. The brothers hated him even more.

Are you ever jealous of others?

Do you get angry if someone has more than you do?

Maybe others get treated better than you. Maybe they are better at doing something.

God’s Word says,

“Be happy with what you have” (Hebrews 13:5).

Do you have friends? Family? A place to live?

 Food to eat?

God has given you these things.
