Joseph Is Tempted
Genesis 39:7-8; 10

Joseph was a slave in Egypt.

7After a while, his master’s wife noticed Joseph. She said to him, “Make love to me! ” 8But he said no, “My master has put me in charge,” he told her. “Now he doesn’t have to worry about anything in the house. He trusts me to take care of everything he owns.” ... 10She spoke to Joseph day after day. But he told her he wouldn’t make love to her. He didn’t even want to be with her.

His master's wife wanted to tempt Joseph to sin. But Joseph was not willing to sin against God. He ran away. The woman was left with his coat. She lied about Joseph and he was thrown into prison. God was with him there.

Think!

You may be asked to do something wrong. You don’t have to do it!

The Bible says, “But when you are tempted, God will give you a way out” (1 Corinthians 10:13). What is God’s way out? Pray! Ask God for help.  Say no to sin. Go away from the person who wants you to do wrong.

You can pray like this:

Dear God, sometimes I am tempted to do wrong. Help me to take your way out. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
