20While Joseph was there in the prison, 21the LORD was with him. He was kind to him. So the man who was running the prison was pleased with Joseph. 22He put Joseph in charge of all of the prisoners. He made him accountable for everything that was done there.
Pharaoh, the king, arrested two of his labourers. In prison they had dreams and God showed Joseph what the dreams meant. One of the labourers got his job back. Later, the king had a strange dream. What did it mean? The labourer thought of Joseph who was still in prison.
Think!
It is not always easy to obey.
You might not get along with the person in charge of you.
God still wants you to obey. He put others in charge of you.
You do what God wants by obeying them.
The Bible says,
“All of you must be willing to obey completely those who rule over you” (Romans 13:1).
Learn this verse.
Say it to yourself when you don’t want to obey.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank you for helping me obey you. Help me obey others you put in charge of me too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
