I Am Joseph!
Genesis 43:3-5

The brothers had sold Joseph. He had been a slave. Now he was in charge!

3Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still alive?” But his brothers weren’t able to answer him. They were too afraid of him. 4Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” So they did. Then he said, “I am your brother Joseph. I’m the one you sold into Egypt. 5But don’t be upset. And don’t be angry with yourselves because you sold me here. God sent me ahead of you to save many lives.”

Did Joseph hurt his brothers? No. He forgave them. Joseph knew God had a plan. The family moved to Egypt. Joseph took care of them.

Think!

It is not easy to forgive when someone hurts you. You will need God’s help. The Bible says, “Forgive each other, just as God forgave you because of what Christ has done” (Ephesians 4:32).

Say this verse until you learn it. Say it again when you think about how someone hurt you. Remember to forgive like God forgave you.

You can pray like this:

Dear God, thank you for forgiving me. Help me forgive (tell God who it is and what they did). In Jesus’ name. Amen.
