Let My People Go
Exodus 5:1-2

¹Later on, Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh. They said, “The LORD is the God of Israel. He says, ‘Let my people go. Then they will be able to hold a feast in my honor in the desert.’” ²Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD? Why should I obey him? Why should I let Israel go? I don’t even know the LORD. And I won’t let Israel go.”

The king did not want to let the people go. He would lose his workers. God made bad things happen to Egypt. The river turned to blood. Frogs and bugs spread over the land. Animals died. Hail killed tht crops. The sun quit shining. The oldest sons died. Finally the king let God´s people go.

Think!

Some people do not believe God is real. Others make fun of Him. Some just ignore Him. But God is real. You need to pay attention to Him.

The Bible says, “Don’t just listen to the word . . . You must do what it says” (James 1:22). Think about what God is saying to you when you read His Word. Ask Him to help you obey.

Dear God, I’m glad you are real. Help me listen to your Word. Help me do what you say. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
