A Flood Is Coming
Genesis 6:12-14

12God saw how sinful the earth had become. All of the people on earth were leading very sinful lives. 13So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people. They have filled the earth with their harmful acts. You can be sure that I am going to destroy both them and the earth. 14So make yourself an ark out of cypress wood.”

Now there were many people living on earth. God had to punish their sin. That is why God decided to send a flood upon the earth.

But Noah obeyed God. God told Noah to build a huge ship. He and his family were to be saved. Animals of every kind were also to be saved.

 

Think!

The flood was to punish sin. God still punishes sin today. The punishment is to be kept away from God forever. Go outside and close the door. The door keeps you away from the things inside. The door is like your sin. Sin keeps you away from God. Only God can take away your sin.

Dear God, I know you have to punish sin. Thank you for making a way to forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
