The devil tempted Jesus in the desert.

²After 40 days and 40 nights of going without eating, Jesus was hungry. ³The tempter came to him. He said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. ” ⁴Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man doesn’t live only on bread. He also lives on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

You need God’s Word just like you need food each day. Food helps your body grow strong. God’s Word helps you grow to be like Jesus.

Satan will tempt you to not read God’s Word. God can help when you are tempted. The Bible says, “He wins the battle for us” (1 Corinthians 15:57). Don’t let Satan keep you from reading God’s Word each day.

Dear God, thank You for Your Word. Help me read it every day. Please make me more like Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen
