¹⁰ “Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. ¹¹Blessed are you when people make fun of you and hurt you because of me. You are also blessed when they tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. ¹²Be joyful and glad. Your reward in heaven is great.”

It is not always easy to be a follower of Jesus. Some people might make fun of you. They might say mean words or refuse to be your friend. It hurts on the inside when that happens. Jesus understands how you feel. People made fun of Him, even when He was dying on the cross. Remember that He loves you. He knows it is hard. But if you keep following God, He will reward you.

Dear God, thank You for loving me! Help me remember Your love when people make fun of me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
