Bartimaeus Wants to See
Mark 10:50-51

Jesus asked to see blind Bartimaeus.

⁵⁰ And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. ⁵¹ And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.”

Bartimaeus called Jesus “Rabbi.” That means master, or teacher. Bartimaeus knew Jesus was powerful. Bartimaeus asked Jesus to do something only He could do.

Think!

Sometimes even those who follow Jesus forget how powerful He is! He can do things that no one else can do. If He chooses, He can change hard things that are happening in our lives. Don’t be afraid to ask God to help you with the hard things in your life. That does not mean He will always take away the problem. Sometimes He allows you to go through the hard thing so you will learn to trust Him more.

Dear God, thank you for helping me trust in Jesus, even for the hard things in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
