God’s Grace
Luke 19:5-7

Zacchaeus was sitting in a tree waiting for Jesus to come along.

5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

The crowd called Zacchaeus a sinner because he had taken money from people for himself. They did not think Jesus should spend time with sinners.

Think!

Jesus is God. He knew the truth about Zacchaeus. But He loved Zacchaeus anyway and was kind to him. This is God’s grace. He shows us kindness, even when we don’t deserve it. God knows you too. He knows you do not always do what is right. But He loves you and shows His kindness to you every day. Have you thanked God today for His grace to you?

You can pray like this:

Dear God, thank you for your grace. Thank you for showing kindness to me, even when I don’t deserve it! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
