Most Important
Mark 10:21-22

Remember that Jesus was talking to a man who asked how he could live forever with God.

21 And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Jesus told this man to sell his things and give away his money. But the man loved his riches more than he loved God. He had kept many rules, but he broke the very first one. He did not give God first place in his life. So he went away sad.

Think!

It is not wrong to have money or nice things. But God wants to be most important in your life. Sharing with others is one way you show that God is important to you. Ask Him how you can share the good things He has given to you with others. If you don’t have money or things, you can still share a smile, a kind word, or a kind action! What will you share this week?

You can pray like this:

Dear God, please help me show that you are most important in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
