Only God
Mark 10:26-27

Jesus had just told His followers how hard it is for a rich person to be part of God’s kingdom (family).

²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” ²⁷ Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

The disciples were amazed. Jesus had said it’s hard for a rich person to be saved. So they wondered if anyone could be saved. But Jesus wanted them to understand. It’s impossible for people to save themselves from sin. Only God can do that. Only God can change a person’s heart and only God can give a person faith to believe in Jesus.

Think!

You cannot save yourself from your sin. You cannot be good enough. That is why God sent Jesus to die for you. He can save you from sin. God can do anything! Has God saved you? If He has, you should be thankful! Tell a friend how much God loves him or her and how He saved you. Tell your friend he or she can be saved too.

Dear God, thank you for saving me from sin. Help me tell my friends about you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
