The trial was done. The soldiers took Jesus away.
17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 19 And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him and kneeling down in homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him.
Think!
Men hurt Jesus with thorns and sticks. They made fun of Him and spit on Him. Jesus is God the Son. Why did He allow these things to happen? The Bible says Jesus “loved us and gave himself up for us” (Ephesians 5:2). He loves you. He was willing to suffer so you could be saved from your sin. Have you thanked Him for doing all this for you?
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank you that Jesus was willing to suffer for me because He loves me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
