Jesus and his disciples were having their special meal.
18 And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” 19 They began to be sorrowful and say to him one after another, “Is it I?” 20 He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve, one who is dipping bread into the dish with me.”
Jesus knew He was going to die. That was God’s plan so our sin could be forgiven. Jesus knew who would betray Him (give Him to His enemies).
Think!
Jesus knew one of his friends was only pretending to be a follower. How did He know that? He is God! He knows everything—even the things you think about deep down inside. Don’t try to pretend with God! Wrong thoughts or feelings can lead you to do sinful things. Talk to God about those thoughts or feelings. He loves you. He will forgive you and help you think and do what is right.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, please help me to think right thoughts and do what pleases you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
