Your Will
Mark 14:35-36

After the meal, Jesus took his disciples to a garden to pray.

35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36 ”And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Jesus knew He would soon take the punishment for our sin. He did not want to go through that. But Jesus was willing to do what God the Father wanted. He knew that was the only way you and I could be forgiven.

Think!

Sometimes what God wants for us is hard. Maybe He wants your family to move to a different place. Or maybe He wants your mom or dad to serve their country and be away for a long time. It’s hard when God wants something for you that you don’t want. Those are the times you need to trust that God knows best. He loves you and wants you to trust Him.

You can pray like this:

Dear God, thank you that you know what’s best for me. Help me to trust you. In Jesus’ name. Amen
