Watch and Pray
Mark 14:41-42

Three times after Jesus prayed, He found His disciples asleep!

⁴¹ And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. ⁴² Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”

The Son of Man is another name for Jesus. He wanted His disciples to watch and pray with Him. Instead they were sleeping.

God wants His followers to be alert. His enemy, Satan, will try to get you to sin. He does not want you to obey God. You need to watch out for Satan’s tricks. The Bible says to stand up to him. Stand firm in what you believe (1 Peter 5:8-9). God also says to pray – talk to God. Ask Him to help you be strong and do what is right.

Dear God, please help me to watch and pray. Thank you for helping me do what is right. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
