Arrested
Mark 14:43 + 45-46

Jesus was about to be betrayed!

43 And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 45 And when he [Judas] came, he went up to him [Jesus] at once and said, “Rabbi!” And he kissed him. 46 And they laid hands on him [Jesus] and seized him.

One of Jesus’ own disciples betrayed Him! Judas helped Jesus’ enemies find him. He kissed Jesus to show the crowd who to take.

Think!

Judas had only pretended to be Jesus’ follower. He was willing to give Jesus over to His enemies for money. Some people today are only pretend followers of Jesus. They say they love Him, but they do not live for Him. Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Do you show you love Jesus by obeying Him?

You can pray like this:

Dear God, I want to be a true follower of Jesus. Help me love and obey you in all I do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
