Jesus had been arrested.
53 And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. 55 Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.
Jesus did not have a fair trial. People told many lies about Him.
Think!
Telling the truth is very important to God. The Bible says, “…you shall not lie to one another” (Leviticus 19:11). Maybe something is only partly true. Saying it is still a lie. Telling a lie can get someone else in trouble. Maybe something bad happened by accident. Is it okay to lie about that? No! It is not what God wants. Watch what you say. Make sure to always tell the truth.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, I want to obey you. Help me tell the truth, even when it is hard. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
