Philip had been teaching about Jesus in a city. Now God wanted him to go somewhere else.

²⁶ Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. ²⁷ And he rose and went.

Why should Philip leave the city and go to the desert road? Philip knew God had a special plan for him. Philip did what he was told.

The angel of the Lord told Philip what God wanted him to do. God probably won’t send an angel to tell you what to do. He lets you know His plans as you read His Word and talk to Him in prayer. Are you willing to follow His plan? Ask God to show you the things He wants you to do. Then obey and do what He says.

Dear God, show me what You want me to do today. Help me to follow Your plans for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
