Philip explained to the Ethiopian man that Jesus had died on a cross for his sin and then came alive again. The man believed in Jesus.
36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the [Ethiopian] said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the [Ethiopian], and he baptized him.
The man believed Jesus died for him and came alive again. He was baptized in the water to show that he truly believed in Jesus.
Think!
The Ethiopian man believed Jesus died to take his punishment for sin and came alive again.
Have you believed Jesus did that for you? If you have never done that, you can believe in Jesus today (John 3:16)! If you have already believed in Jesus, you can help others understand what Jesus did for them.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank you for forgiving my sin. Help me learn more about You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
