God told a believer named Ananias to go help Saul. Ananias was afraid.
13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.”
Ananias knew Saul had hurt followers of Jesus. He came to put believers in jail. God had chosen Saul to tell the people about Jesus.
Think!
Ananias was afraid! Maybe he wondered if God could truly change a man like Saul. What if a bully you know believes in Jesus? Would you have a hard time believing he or she can change? God can change anyone (2 Corinthians 5:17)! Changes may take some time. Be that person’s friend. Let him know when you see the changes God is making in his life.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, thank you for changing me. Help me be a friend to other believers as You change their lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
