Prayer at Work
Acts 12:4-5

King Herod put believers in prison. One was even killed. Now he arrested Peter.

⁴ And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. ⁵ So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the Church.

Peter was in prison. Four sets of soldiers guarded him. People who believed in Jesus were called the Church. These people prayed for Peter.

Prayer is talking to God. You can ask God to help you or give you something you need. God also wants you to pray for others. Tell God about a friend who needs His help. Pray for someone who is sick. Pray for someone who needs to believe in Jesus. Praying for someone else is often the best way for you to help that person!

Dear God, help me remember to pray for others this week. Thank you for answering those prayers. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
