Saul was now called Paul. As he and Silas preached, a slave girl with an evil spirit kept calling out and following them.
18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. 19 But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
The girl’s owners were angry. They could not make money from her anymore.
Think!
God wanted Paul and Silas to help the slave girl. They got in trouble for doing good. Jesus wants you to do good. He wants you to love others. He wants you to tell others about Him. Some people may not like what you do. They may try to get you in trouble. Ask God to help you follow Jesus and do good anyway. He will make you glad.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, help me follow You and do good, even if it is hard. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
