Timothy was a young pastor. Paul had important things to tell him. God wanted Timothy to be a good leader.
12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
There were people in Timothy’s church who were older than he was. Paul didn’t want Timothy to be afraid to lead them. Timothy could show other people how to follow Jesus through his words and the things he did. He could show how to trust in God. He could love others and keep away from sinful things.
Think!
God wanted Timothy to be a good example to others. He wants you to be the same. You are not too young to serve God. Can you be kind to someone who is lonely? Can you tell your friends Jesus loves them? Can you be kind in the way you talk and act? You can be an example and serve God like Timothy did. Choose a way to serve Him each day.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, I’m glad I’m not too young to serve You! Help me find ways to serve each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
