2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. 3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
This man was lame from birth, so he had never walked. Friends had to carry him to the temple gate, where he begged for money.
Think!
Peter and John did not have money, but they gave the man something more valuable—healing in Jesus’ name. There are no apostles today, but Jesus sometimes heals people when we pray, if that is His plan for them. But He always forgives the sins of anyone who trusts Him to save them from sin. Have you done that? If not, you can trust Him today.
You can pray like this:
Dear God, show me someone who needs help today. Help me show your love for that person. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
