Bad into Good
Acts 4:2-4

The lame man was healed. Then Peter taught about Jesus. The religious leaders did not like this!

[The religious leaders were] ² greatly annoyed because they [Peter and John] were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. ³ And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. ⁴ But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

Peter and John did not stop teaching about Jesus. They were put in jail, but many who heard them believed in Jesus.

Think!

Peter and John were put in jail for teaching about Jesus. In some countries this still happens. Believers who tell others about Jesus are sometimes punished. Some are even put to death. Pray for believers who are punished for talking about Jesus. Ask God to give them courage to keep trusting in Him. If you are free to talk about Jesus in your country, thank God for that freedom!

Dear God, please help those who are punished for talking about Jesus. Help them to keep trusting in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
